Home Based Businesses Can Have a Global Reach

While the work that I do at home is currently all for clients within the United States of America, I have been realizing more and more that working from home brings with it the ability to participate in whichever marketplace you would like to participate in. Some people wish to work strictly with local clients in their immediate geographic area. Others like myself may wish to expand their reach and serve clients that are interested in their services, wherever those clients may be located. It is entirely up to you how you design your business and position yourself in the … Continue reading

One Thing At A Time

A little while ago, Stephanie Romero wrote a great post about the many hats that home –based professionals wear. I wholeheartedly agree with Stephanie’s advice to do your best to wear only one hat at a time. I’m a strict adherent to the one – hat policy because I have noticed that when I try to wear more than one hat, I either forget things or do them incorrectly. My attempts at multitasking have resulted in things like socks being put in the freezer, a very smelly pot of burnt beans that caused the entire house to stink for days, … Continue reading

Intentional about Prioritizing

If you are going to be successful with your home business, you need to be intentional about prioritizing. This is one of my goals for the year 2012. Prioritizing is a way to manage your time. When you work at home it means not only prioritizing your work but your entire day’s schedule. If I were to work outside my home, the option of doing dishes or throwing in a load of laundry wouldn’t be there. But since I am inside my home, it ends up cutting into my work time. I can be a little manic about things. Let … Continue reading

Getting Through a Bad Day

Although switching form traditional work to home-based work has its advantages, there is something that anyone considering making the switch should be aware of. Home-based professionals can have bad days (or bad weeks, or even bad months) just like anyone else. It would be great if switching to home-based work could prevent that from happening, but unfortunately it does not. When you find yourself having a bad day, week or month you may feel like your streak of bad luck will never end. At times like these, it is important to take care of yourself so that you will have … Continue reading

Religious Marriage versus Civil Marriage

Good afternoon, I’m switching gears again here late in the day as I begin to wax philosophic on several key points related to the marriage debate that has been clawing up the headlines the last couple of months. I have to say, if the politics of the situation were distract people from the troubling issues of today – this has been a successful campaign. However, that being said, I like to throw in my two cents. In all likelihood, Sherry may respond to this blog and I’ll look forward to her thoughts on the matter. What I want to discuss … Continue reading
